John's Run/Walk Shop
John's Run/Walk Shop started as a specialty store for running shoes in 1978, but has evolved into a complete shoe store that carries every type of shoe for every occasion. They have a wide stock with many big name brands such as Adidas, Timex, New Balance, and Baby Jogger. There are four locations in Kentucky. Unfortunately, orders can not be made online, but anyone can join the mailing list. However, the mailing list may not be beneficial to someone outside of the area because it often lists running and walking locations and groups in the area. Recently a women's running/walking group was formed at John's Run/Walk Shop.
A Snail's Pace Running Shop
A Snail's Pace Running Shop is another running store that opened about the same time (1979), but did not expand to fit every need. A Snail's Pace, also known as ASP is a primary running source in Southern California with locations in Brea, Laguna Hills, Fountain Valley, and Pasadena. One branch can quench your thirst for all your running and walking necessities. Their wide selection of running and walking shoes includes top name brands such as Nike, Adidas, New Balance, and Brooks. Not only do they sell shoes at A Snail's Pace Running Shop, but they also offer programs to get you started in running and walking, and keeping you there. There is a Beginning Running program guide to provide a supportive atmosphere and to introduce this sport in a safe atmosphere

The Half Marathon Training Programs helps to improve fitness levels and prepare runners for local half marathons that are held several times a year. If the half marathon is not trying enough for you, there is of course the Marathon Training Program. It begins in September and focuses on training the runners for the Los Angeles Marathon.
Super Runners Shop
Another store that specializes in running and walking shoes is the Super Runners Shop. However, unlike the other two stores, this one delivers so that others outside of permanent location areas can enjoy the store. This feature is complete with a tracking system to see where exactly your shoes are and approximately when the will be arriving. They also offer gift certificates online. While they vary slightly from the typical running shoe by selling Crocs and sandals, the entire stock is primarily running, walking, and track and field shoes. Also, unlike John's Run/Walk Shop and A Snail's Pace Running Shop they do not carry children's shoes. They do, however, carry many name brands such as Adidas, New Balance, and Nike.
