Running Shoes
Choose A Running Shoe
Choosing the proper running shoe is the most important step towards a great running regiment. First, find out what type of foot you have because it is vital when trying to match it with a brand and model of running shoe that will work for you. There are several tips that can help to make sure the shoe fits. Check for adequate length by determining if there is a full thumb between the end of the big toe and the end of the shoe. The toes should have enough room to move around, but the shoe should not be too big that the foot can not grip. If you are in doubt it is better to err on the larger size. The most essential part regarding movement is in the heels, the heel counter should not slip or rub at all. If you think the shoe feels good, try going for a run in them just to make sure they feel right during movement as opposed to just standing. When determining your size, get both feet measured. Often times one foot is bigger than the other. If this is your case, opt for the larger size. Check to see if the shoe flexes where you foot flexes. Shoes should not have to break in your running shoes. The shoes should feel good from day one.
